SHANE PENNINGTON “Pennington’s subjects are skewed metaphorically and in size allowing the viewer to look at their own daily grinds from a different perspective. Using many mediums and textures from sculpture to digital video, he enlightens us on our own humanity and the world around us.” Shane Pennington has exhibited his works internationally in Sydney, Australia at the Paddington Contemporary Gallery and domestically at HCG Gallery and his studio in Dallas, Texas. Solo and Group exhibitions include Alana in Sydney, Australia, Gallery Works in Aspen, Colorado, and HCG Gallery, Open Cedar Arts Studios, and SP Studio in Dallas, Texas. Shane has been the resident artist at Parigi Restaurant for several years. 2009 Honors: Shane was selected as one of the nine winners of the 2009 New Dallas Nine at the D Art Slam at f.i.g. and featured in the August’s “Best of Big D” issue of D Magazine. In addition, he was also selected and featured in NYArts Magazine’s Top 500 Websites Catalogue in 2009. 500 artists and galleries were selected worldwide for inclusion in the magazine’s “best websites” special directory. Further, Shane’s Copper Wire Tree Sculptures were selected for the Texas Sculpture Association’s 2009 State-Wide Juried Art Exhibition at HCG Gallery.
